Segue abaixo dicas de atividades que aprendi no encontro da APIES. Elas são todas ótimas. Have fun and them, share your experiences.

Hands-on Idioms- Upper-intermediate on

Bring in an object to stimulate discussion about related idioms, e.g. a ball (have a ball, start the ball rolling, play ball, drop the ball, etc). Discuss how each idiom is related to the object. Occasionally. bring the object back to the classroom and elicit the idioms studied.

High Brow/ Low Brow

Material need: a deck of playing cards.
Each student choose a card, but doesn`t look at it. Low numbers are people with whom you would use informal language (e.g. friends). High numbers, formal language (e.g., boss),
Students hold the cards facing out on their foreheads. Tell them the language category to be used for interaction will be: greetings, asking for sth, apologizing, introductions, handling an embarrassing situation, , or sth else. Students must mingle and interact with each other based on their status. After a while, ask students to guess their number, based on how their classmates interacted with them, and form a line from two to aces.

Jump right, jump left

This is a kinesthetic correction activity. Teacher reads a sentence. Students jump to right if it`s correct, or jump to left if it`s wrong.
